Update (probably too long, but who is really doing anything right now?)

I am sure you are all thinking that this has become a video blog or vlog, but no, I am just sort of lazy and haven't really had time to gather my thoughts about the last week or so. Everything went by so fast, I have only barely recovered from the Bears, the weather, the gift extravaganza, and of course the thousands and thousands of calories I shoved into my mouth.

As you have probably guessed we all survived the Bears game, and we are proud to say that we were in attendance at the second coldest Bears game in history. I think it was -10 degrees, but I am not 100% sure. Does it really even matter? I think I would have been more of a trooper if I were not pregnant, but the fact that I had some concern for my well being really did not give me motivation to sit out in the freezing cold longer than I had to. We were all bundled up very warmly -- in fact I have never worn so many warm clothes in my entire life.

A large group of us walked back to the hotel at halftime, but I have to also note that we arrived at the game with more than 72 minutes to go before it started. Not my idea, but that could have added to our early departure. As I am sure all of you know, the Bears won, only to lose the following week to the Texans. But, it was a good game.

It was so much fun getting together with everyone, and we all revert into immature 18year olds like always. It was also really nice to not be the only pregnant person there, and everyone really did fuss over us, even though we were probably way better off then they were once they got into their cups.

Then, came the weather. First snow out of Chicago, then ice out of the region into Indianapolis. Our drive home on Tuesday before Christmas was six hours (it usually only takes two). That is not fun when you have a screaming two year old in the backseat, who is going through suckers at an alarming rate. I tried my best to entertain Abe, while Jake did his best not to kill us. It ended up working out in the end.

Then, we celebrated Christmas with the Mullally family. It was an explosion of wrapping paper and Thomas the Train, and I think everyone was thoroughly spoiled by my parents. Abe really enjoyed himself. I mean, how could he not? He slept with three new trains that night (wooden trains) and tried to carry them all downstairs in the morning. I think he is only just coming down now from the thrill of it all.

So, now things are relatively normal. Jake and Abe are hanging out at home and I am back at work. We have about 264 bags of garbage in our garage because we have missed the trash day and we had two sets of guests in a week, plus a visit from Santa and Baba and Rob who apparently believe in buying toys that kill many, many trees in their packaging.

We are planning a low key New Years Eve because, well, I am pregnant, we have a kid, and Jake won't be leaving the house any time soon so it is all for the best. Maybe if I get motivated (bored) enough I will reflect on 2008 a little. But, who cares, really?

Happy New Year!!
