Mental Red Bull

This week has been very low key, and I have nothing of good note to report on (I do realize that perhaps my entire blog has been filed with "nothing of good note"), but even in my humble opinion, I have nothing of good note. Lately my life has been filled with extreme ups and downs, and this past week has been a very plain jane straight line. Sometimes that is good, but I don't really think I would like very many straight line weeks.

I did a lot of television viewing, and realized that there really are not many good shows. Maybe I just would prefer to watch them in DVD form -- a whole season all at once, minus the commercials. But, really, I would only do that with about three shows. I did have a disturbing moment, though, when I started laughing at an episode of "Boy Meets World." I was laughing with pure joy -- not because the episode was bad, but because I thought it was funny. See what not having cable will do to you!?!?

If anything, this very non-exciting week has given me a sort of sense of calmness that I have not had in a long time. I am kind of worried that my calmness could be walking a close edge to being apathetic to my job situation. But, dang, a girl needs a week off. Interviewing, test taking, sweet talking, nice dressing .... it all takes it out of me. And that isn't even the worst part. The worst part is getting your hopes up for a great job, only to find out that you aren't "skilled enough" or "you don't have enough experience" or "you scare small children." Whatever the case may be, it's a tough world out there. I seriously need a mental Red Bull.

Hopefully I will think of something of good note to write later on. Baby Ava is coming to visit (with her mother) and that should be quite fun. Hopefully she will not projectile vomit when she sees Jake and I. It is a very good defense mechanism she has learned. That coupled with the Danielle "stink eye" is a pretty effective one-two punch.

Until more worthwhile happenings, I bid you adieu.
