"Do you want to watch a movie tonight?"
"Yes, but I want it to be about real people and the real world."
"What about Star Wars?"
"Uh, no."
"I guess that is the exact opposite of what you said to me."
"What about Best in Show? Blue Crush? Adaptation?"
"Lord of the Rings?"
"Once again, Jake, I would like to watch real people."
"You know we are just going to go with the old standby, My Big Fat Greek Wedding."

Jake wanted me to be clear that he would never use the term "standby" while talking about movie choices. I did not mean to misquote him, and hope that the meaning does not change for the audience.
My "standby" movies are Terms of Endearment,Almost Famous, An Affair to Remember,Steel Magnolias,To Kill a Mockingbird and Freeze Dried Tomatoes.I don't care that I have seen them all a million times, I love to cry and I even know the endings. I also love My big fat Greek Wedding, but I have had the Y-town weddings this past summer in real life,so I need a break.
