Alumi-neers Weekend

You guys, I don't want to jinx myself but things are starting to look up. This week my new garage door opener got installed (so I don't have to open and close it manually like in Pioneer days), and I got a beautiful and luxurious new refrigerator (so I don't have to go out to the garage and get food like in Pioneer days). Abe shared my enthusiasm for all of these new developments and said, "Now everything in our house is fixed! Except, for Ozzie puking on the rug." Yes, my sentiments exactly.

This weekend, I am heading down to U of I for the annual Alumni meet. Once again, I am nervous about all that it will entail, and like an insecure 30-something, not in wonderful shape lady, I am totally dreading gallavanting around in a bathing suit and diving off starting blocks. Ugh. But, whatevs. My friend Stephanie always reminds me that we've had two kids and we are awesome. That just reminds me that I am really old. I really hope that a swimmer calls me Ma'am. That would be awesome.

But, despite my insecurities, it really is fun to see college friends and it is actually fun to swim again.

Then, tomorrow night me and some lovely ladies will head downtown for the Lumineers concert. I hope to see lots of vests and beards. I am imagining that all of the people will look like this Mumford & Sons video, and maybe there will even be guys with kick drums strapped to their backs. I really, really, really hope so. If there is, I am totally asking them out. Let's hope I also don't get called Ma'am here.
