Jake and I are addicted to the Olympics. We just can’t get enough. Last night Jake was even watching badminton on the Korean channel. Yes, that’s right. (I didn’t even know badminton was an Olympic sport, but you should see these mulleted Asian ladies hit that birdie.)
So, in honor of our newly acquired knowledge I thought I would share with you some fast facts, or some observations, if you will, of the Olympic Games.
• Bob Costas is getting old
• The Chinese gymnastics team must have an average age of 9
• Michael Phelps is a machine
• Aaron Piersol is hilarious
• Dara Torres looks a little too manly for my comfort
• Katie Hoff needs to suck it up and stop being a baby
• Bela Karolyi sounds even more foreign now than he did 20 years ago
• Indiana is representing hard core (gymnastics and diving)
• Has anyone even seen any rowing?
• Archery is pretty freaky
• Michael Phelps should never grow facial hair
• Jason Lezak is not getting the recognition he deserves
• Why don’t the men playing beach volleyball wear skimpy bathing suits like the women?
• Why is the scoring in gymnastics entirely too complicated?
• Morgan Freeman’s commercials make me cry
• Has anyone even missed track and field thus far?
