This weekend Jake and I welcomed a little bundle of joy into our house.
Cable.
I love cable. Jake loves cable. Ozzie loves cable. How did we ever live without cable? As soon as the polite cable gentleman left, both of us sat on the couch and giggled with glee as we flipped through the channels. “Why did we wait so long to get something that made us this happy?” we asked each other. I finally got to catch up with all of my friends – Flavor Flav, Alton Brown, Rachael Ray, Hulk Hogan, Heidi Klum, and the gang from “Best Week Ever” (God, I’ve missed your witty comments, Mo Rocca.) I was in some sort of TV high. No show had ever been funnier, more educational, fascinating or exciting as the one I was watching. Jake and I found new shows to watch – the crazy cake making man or the show about freaky people and their elaborate dog houses. I think that multiple times Jake told me that this was the best night of his life. I looked at him with tears in my eyes, and agreed. We both ended the night straining to keep our eyes open in front of the flickering TV, in fear of missing another fabulous show.
I realize that this shows that I am just another one of those “TV-lovin-Americans” and that is “what is wrong with this country,” but I don’t even care. TV inspires me. On “Tyler’s Ultimate” on the Food Network, I was inspired to cook meatloaf with bacon on it. After watching “Clean Sweep” I was inspired to clean out our closets. After watching “Flavor of Love” I was inspired to … well, maybe not every show is inspiring.
And, in conclusion, what the heck am I supposed to do while waiting for this giant baby? I think I have another month or so, so I might as well be watching some quality programming, because I sure as hell can’t move around for more than 30 minutes at a time.

i second whitney's comment! omg - for a second, i was totally like - is there really any way that she had the baby and is already back writing a blog?! but, after reading the entry, i have to agree - i really like me some tv too :)
I was going to send you a "congratulations-on-your-new-arrival" card but realized I need to save it for the real deal...which, by the way, is coming up FAST!!
Good luck!
Yes, I am verrrrry sneeeaaaky. No baby yet. I was hoping to have a web cam hooked up in the hospital room while I am giving labor, just so everyone can live through the "magic." No, I am totally kidding.
