I am sure many of you saw the photo below. I posted Abe's first day photo like every other parent on Facebook does. Look how handsome he is!

| Abe, First Day of Kindergarten |
He has also started making up stories (aka "lying) about what happened that day. The first story was about how a group of teenagers was making fun of his uniform. I found that hard to believe on many levels, but he ended up fessing up and saying it was a lie. He also said that no one plays with him at the playground. A part of me freaks out and pictures Abe all alone, with a sad face, kicking around some dirt.
BUT, every time he comes to school at least one person says hi to him or gives him a high-five. And THEN, his new best friend's (a boy named Jake who also loves Batman) twin sister said she was going to marry him (in front of me, the MOTHER IN LAW). He also got a note home saying he was extra kind helping a kid in his class learn the alphabet. Abe said the kid didn't speak any English, so he was helping him. (I know. I died.) So, he's probably like the star of his school or something. And, he's trying to make us think he is having a rough time. Pffft.
AND THEN, last night, he told us that he gave Josie (the girl who wants to marry him) "the wrong phone number, so she won't call him." DUDE. Dude. Where the heck did he learn that? Is that something that is innate in men? Lord knows I didn't teach him that trick. I mean, the kid JUST learned his phone number. And as far as I know, he has never gotten a phone call.
So, yeah, pretty sure that Abe is doing just fine at school. Jusssst Fiiiiiiiiiiine.
And, then, there's Sam. Or, "S-A-M, Sammy Beans!" as he likes to call himself.

| First week of Preschool (with new backpack) |
This kid is ready to go to Kindergarten (although, I am 100% sure Kindergarten is not ready for him.) I think he is doing great, and by great I mean he has only had one incident report from when he fell face first onto the floor. I guess there was a lot of blood. He seems like a completely different kid this year -- talking so much, peeing in the potty (or in the vicinity), trying new foods, sharing so well. Blah blah blah.
We are all a little tired and still getting adjusted to everything. It's a lot of changes, but all of them good. I really like Abe's school, and I am finally feeling settled with all that was in limbo a year ago with our house, where we were going to live, where Abe would go to school, etc. I am sure that won't last very long. Because sometimes, you find some moldy strawberries in your Spiderman backpack. But, you just got to throw it away and buy an Avengers one.
That was an extremely deep metaphor.
