This month has been a little rough for you, injury wise, however you are as resilient as ever. You would never know that in a matter of weeks a kid bit your back and your fingernail was ripped off. Nope. Not at all. You are one tough kid, and you are truly an optimist, which I think you get from me.
I know I say this a lot, but I just cannot believe how fast you are growing up! Every month I see more of your personality, and really, it is what I always imagined you would be like. Even from the time you were in my belly. Now, the next kid, that’s a different story. I have no clue what your brother or sister will be like. Maybe that means he will take after your father, which of course, would be a great thing.
You are talking so much, and when I mean so much, I mean constantly and in full sentences. Sometimes I have to catch myself and remember that you are only two years old! “Mama, I want to go see Maggie at school.” Yes, you said that to me this morning. You also have an uncanny knack for direction. When your Daddy was taking you home from school the other day, he had to go another route because of construction. “No go this way!” you said. You were freaking out because it was not the way home. The same thing happened to me on the way to school. I couldn’t go the normal way and had to change direction at the last minute. “No!! I WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL!” you said. You totally knew we missed the turn. You are so smart.
So, I have two favorite things this month. One is that you sing. You sing all kinds of songs. Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes, Peter Pumpkin Eater, Bob the Builder theme song (see below), Bringing Home my Baby Bumblebee song. You love it. And, I love when you do it, and I try to sing along with you.
My second favorite thing is when you play with your trains you now provide dialogue for them. “Come on Thomas we go bye-bye!” That was something I overheard yesterday. I also saw you silently mouthing, “chugga chugga choo choo” under your breath. MOTHER FREAKING PRECIOUS.
You are turning into such a caring, funny, responsible boy and I am so proud of you. Every time you do something you shout, “I DID IT!” and you are so proud of yourself. You love to help us, and you really do listen to us (I know, maybe not for long). I say this all the time, but I love you more and more every day. At month twenty-six, I still want to kiss your cheeks and give you hugs twenty four hours a day. If you want, I will sing your “Abe song” to you every night for the rest of your life. Do you think your future wife will mind? Of course she won’t.
Love,
Mama

He is such a sweet boy, and I hope he can teach Luke a thing or two in the future. It was great to see you guys in Richmond--thanks again for coming to see us!
Love the picture at the top. Miss my little Abe. Eventhough he called me Aunt Joyce. Guess I need to see him more often.
It was great seeing you and Abe. He is such a wonderful boy...and I love that photo of him. Adorable!
