Dear Loyal Readers,

I wanted to reach out to my loyal readership (of four people) and let you know that the format of this blog may change a bit. Lately, I have found that I cannot think of one, single thing to write about other than Abe. And while most of the four people that read this, read it for updates about Abe, as a writer I am disappointed in myself. I love Abe so much, and yes, he is a large part of my life, but come on, something has got to be going on besides him! And, if not, I should be able to creatively and skillfully write about something else. I have a Journalism degree for godsakes.

When I was in college I was forced to write, so I did. In my job I write every day, all the time, but it isn't very exciting or the type of writing I like to do. I would prefer to write about my husband's commentary on Supernanny. However, people in the corporate world just don't care about that.

So, I have taken matters into my own hands and have started a blogging project. I am not quite sure what it will entail, but I wanted to warn you that all of the posts may not be about -- A) me, B) Ozzie, C) Abe (GASP!), or D) reality. When I say that it is not going to be about reality, it doesn't mean I am going to create another world with hobbits and elves, but it means it may just be fictional creative writing. Who really knows. I sure don't.

The impetus for this project was being annoyed by my lack of creative thoughts on a daily basis combined with the jealously I feel toward other writers when I read their books. I knew that if I picked up David Sedaris new book, it would just put me over the edge in self-loathing hatred of my writing laziness. Action needed to be taken ASAP.

I bought a book that has 366 writing exercises in it. I will post any worthy things that come out of any of them. If you think they suck, you can feel free to say so in the comments. I am bearing my soul for all of you people (okay, four people) in order to be accountable.

Sincerely,
Brianne

P.S. Don't worry, I will still write about Abe, Ozzie, and Jake.

i love this idea! you're such a good writer - no matter what you're writing about... i like to think that your creative genius was fostered through our lovely days working on the register :) "de mayo - the stuff that holds the golf sandwich together" - i'm sure you were the creator of that one.
as one of your loyal readers, i am very much looking forward to the results of your writing exercises :)
